Jack White’s latest project: The Vault.

The Vault“If you knew what we had laying around here, you’d crap your pants.”

We’re all part of social networks, right? You know, Facebook, Myspace, Nexopia, Twitter; and the list goes on… but have y’all heard of a social networking site designed for and revolving around certain music groups or labels? I’m not talking about some prettily designed MySpace page, or a Facebook group with thousands of members. I mean a site that is run by a certain music group, and it features content from that music? Enter: The Vault.

The Vault is Jack White’s (Third Man Records, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weathers) newest creation and has been getting some pretty frenzied attention. You see, it’s not your typical networking site. Of course you’re able to share your thoughts and interests with other members through photos, videos, messaging, and even your own site profile page that is sharable with your friends. But not only does it have that, The Vault gives you special stuff. Stuff like previously unreleased content such as videos and songs from all three of Jack White’s bands and pre-sale concert tickets. Plus, with your paid membership, you are frequently sent special packages in the mail. For example (sshhh, from inside The Vault):

Platinum subscribers who sign up between July 3rd and July 21st will receive a double album of The White Stripes LP Icky Thump. This will be an exclusive never before heard MONO mix of the album on 180 Gram Vinyl, with customized artwork in a gatefold sleeve. In addition to that behemoth, you’ll also receive a 45 of The Dead Weather performing two covers, PentagramsForever My Queen and The Downliner Sect’s Outside. This 45 will come with special labels and sleeves that you will only get through the Vault. Last but not least, you’ll get a Third Man Records T-shirt, with a new design that AGAIN you can only get through The Vault service.

Intrigued? Well, you should be. This kind of special stuff only comes around once in a while. There are two types of memberships for The Vault for you to choose from. One gets you more, the other gets you less, of course. Premium, which is $7 a month, gets you all sorts of goodies like first dibs on pre-sale concert tickets, exclusive streaming video and photos, exclusive chats, and special pay-per-view live performances of many Third Man Records artists. And then there’s the Platinum membership, for $20 a month, which is even tastier. It gets you everything that the Premium membership does, plus every quarter, you get some pretty prime stuff from Third Man Records, like vinyls, t-shirts, and CDs! This kind of stuff isn’t available through any store or online store, but only though The Vault! A little note: each membership requires a 3-month minimum sign up.

Sound good to you? Sign up! I know I have.
