Watching movies isn’t usually my favourite thing to do, simply because they have no real relation to the music world. But this may be the slightest exception to my negate against the film industry: Jennifer’s Body.
I’ve seen the commercial, and it seems as though they’re really trying to market the soundtrack (pre-order!) just as much as the movie, as they include the big list of “Music from…” at the end of the clips. Could this be their attempt at trying to get all the indie kids to go for this movie? It certainly seems that way to me.
Anyhow, I’d like to focus on the songs more than the movie, itself. Being called “Fueled By Ramen’s first soundtrack”, this nifty little treat is being released August 25th (shipped on the 20th), and it actually features some pretty big names in music, including Panic! At The Disco, Hayley Williams (Paramore), and All Time Low. Shall we go a little deeper in to this?
Firstly, the Panic! At The Disco song being used, “New Perspective”, is one of the feature songs in the film, and is actually a song written body just Brendon and Spencer, the two keeping the band going after the tragic split up. The song Hayley Williams of Paramore is providing isn’t actually a recorded song by her or Paramore, but somewhat of lost lyrics that she by herself a long while ago. Fox Atomic simply wanted that song, so she recorded it for them, and on LiveJournal she assures us all that Paramore isn’t breaking up or anything silly. We also know that All Time Low has a song, “Toxic Valentine”, especially for Jennifer’s Body, as it’s not released anywhere else. And lastly, a song off of their first album “Carnavas”, LA rockers The Silversun Pickups provide a lovely song, “Little Lover’s So Polite”.
