By now I’m sure most people have heard of the Millionaires and have decided for themselves whether they like the music or not.
While performing at one of the Warped Tour dates, their cd skipped and went back to the previous track. As if it weren’t apparent enough that they were lipsyncing before this, this confirmed my sneaking suspicion.
Nathan Leone of Madina Lake gave his account of the incident in a blog post:
“so yesterday I went to see a band called Millionaires. sheer curiosity. what i saw was shocking and awesome to say the least. remember i’m not judging anyone here, just telling a story lol. about 5 songs into their set the CD skipped. Think Ashley Simpson times 10. 3 girls fumbling around absolutely clueless as to what was happening. they seriously didn’t even know why the song they were “performing” suddenly skipped to the song they “played” before it. then it skipped again and again and they just huffed and puffed around the stage. of course none of their mics were even ON but i was at the side of the stage and one of them turned to the other and goes “ewww this is sooo anoyyying” like one of the bitchy girls on MTVs Sweet 16. hah it was amazing.”
Those are some harsh words! But sadly, it sounds just about right. I will admit I was really surprised seeing them on the Warped Tour lineup this year. Whether you like them our not, you at least have to admit that there are bands out there who actually play the music and sing it themselves that deserve the amount of attention way more then these girls. How old are they anyway? Are they even old enough to drink? I’m sure the answer is out there, it just disappoints me that bands like this are even liked. Alright. I’ll stop hating now.
