The Queen Killing Kings started somewhere around 2006… so why am I just now finding them?! But really, this is a band DEFINITELY worth checking out.
The Queen Killing Kings got their start in Connecticut in 2006 when lead singer and pianist Coley O’Toole got together with original drummer Jon Scerbo. Later on, Scerbo left the band and Joe Ballaro was added on bass guitar, Dan Duggins on drums, and Zac Clark on organs and also vocals… HEY WAIT, they don’t have any guitarists?! That’s right. They’ve been considered to have the “classic rock” lineup with no guitars. Crazy huh? But it sure sounds good!
In addition to having a “classic rock” lineup, the first time I heard them, classic rock came to mind. To me, The Queen Killing Kings seems like a mixture of some ’70s rock band and some newer band much like My Chemical Romance.
The band released their first full-length entitled “Tidal Eyes” on July 17 of this year, through Wind-up Records. “Tidal Eyes” has 11 kickass tracks and was recorded in Manhattan at Pyramid Studios. You can find the band on Twitter and YouTube, and download their debut full-length on iTunes.
