Hey y’all, I’ve got a nice little update for you. I’m pleased to announce that Double Dance will be attending Victoria’s ultimate annual indie music gathering, the 2009 Rifflandia Music Festival!
What exactly is Rifflandia?
Rifflandia is a – now 2 year strong – music festival hosted in British Columbia’s capital city Victoria, featuring a wide variety of both indie and established artists from Canada and around the world. This year’s talent is said to be about 70% Canadian, with backing from the US, the UK, Australia, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, China, and Japan.
When and Where?
From Thursday, September 24th until Sunday the 27th. Last year it was simply one venue and 3 days, but this year they’ve expanded to a 4 day extravaganza at multiple venues around the city, including Element and Sugar night club, the Alix Goolden Hall, and the Metro Theatre.
Who’s going to be there?
This year’s Rifflandia features super-duper headliner acts such as Tegan and Sara, The Dudes, DJ Champion, Jets Overhead, Buck 65, and a whole hecka lot more!

Not only does R-landia give artists a chance to showcase their awesome talent, but it also benefits the local merchants, as it attracts people with Wristband Connect. What is that? Well, Wristband Connect is simple. As soon as you grab your wristband from Rifflandia HQ, you can hit the streets during the festival and select merchants will give you a certain percentage off your purchases for flashing your wristband. It’s as simple as that!
